how come Ubuntu does not have ManDVD?

Weird - I remember looking at this app about 6 months ago and it had a
home page then...

I see there is a gutsy deb at http://www.getdeb.net/release.php?id=1663

While it had some odd bugs I liked it quite a bit and thought it might
turn into a really great application....  Hopefully the authour has just
let some stuff slide for a while.
