I found that just a bit ago.  The issue must be in the installer that
upgraded from Firefox 2 to 3.  URL launching was working before the
install and broken afterwards.  I had not looked at Preferred Apps in
months, but when I looked today, it was set on Custom, pointing to a
file that did not exist.  When I changed it back to Firefox, all was
well with the world.  OK, maybe not that wide, but at least I don't feel
like I was just downgraded to an AOL user.  ;-)
