Thanks, Nils
System is / was runnning properly the whole day ;-)
Have tried some more experiments and switching
between the two OS'es with no problems ;-))
Well, I have been busy finding the mistake I made and
have continued my Partition Reorganization towards
my intentions ...
... and ran into same problems as before !!!
Super Grub Disk saved my day this time. ;-D
What happened ?
After hda1 and hda3 I had an extended partition filling
the rest of the HDD. Copied hda3 into this extended
partition and got it as hda5.
Shutdown and reboot with "ESC" to change GRUB to
start with Ubuntu in this new sda5 and adjusted menu.lst
and fstab accordingly. Changed the background to see
any differences and rebooted without any problems ! ;-)
Shutdown and reboot with GParted CD, erased hda3 and
rebooted again ...
... with Error 17: ...
... ESC didn't work !?
Now I used S.G.D. to do its job and after that the system
booted properly as ever again !!!
OK, for me is this part of the job done and finished luckily.
Unfortunately I am unable to say where I made my mistake.
May be one of the experts may find and give respective
feedback and suggestions !?
TIA for your efforts and cheers, svobi
