Nevertheless, the vmware-server package is tricky - or at least it was the
last time I installed it, it needed another patch in order to get the vmmon
(?) module compiled. ...So if you have troubles installing vmware-server
after enabling the partner repository and if you decide it's indeed a
headache to install, you could always try out VirtualBox: it works like a
charm, no extra config needed, networking works out of the box and so on.
For the virtualisation purposes I'm using VirtualBox for I didn't find by
now anything that it cannot do comparing to VMWare Server. Check it out
