no sound under 2.6.22-14 kernel w/ Intel audio

Could these messages indicate the wrong module (i.e. 2.6.22-12) is being 
loaded somehow?

I know I've found kernel problems with my nvidia module after kernel 
upgrades which sometimes seem to be solved by running "sudo depmod -a" 
and then rebooting .. try it.

Did you install some extra modules package under 2.6.22-12 that you 
forgot to install on 2.6.22-14?

Did you install any non-ubuntu packages?  Consider what you might have 
brought in that effects sound.  Take a look at the /var/log/dpkg* files 
to see if anything odd is noted.
