A new unit I just delivered is running Hardy 8.04 and my sister-in-law
reports that she receives "Error 18 Selected cylinder exceeds maximum
supported by BIOS. The machine ran perfectly for 5 weeks and as she was
having the DSL connected she tried to wake the machine from Hibernation
and received the error. On the phone I had her shut all power off to
the unit and wait ten seconds for a cold boot bu on selecting generic,
recovery or the Windows loader she receives the same message.
She is running a Biostar MCP6P-M2+ mobo with an AMD Dual Core 3800 the
HDD is a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250 GB 7200 16MB Serial ATA-300 OEM.
The unit is running 1 GB of unbuffered Crucial RAM.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Her family is new to Ubuntu and I
have tried hard to sell this to them to get them off windows.
Thank-you!
