Sorry, I can't help on your menu issue; never had the issue
myself on any program.  However, the purge advice is good
for anything that may be configuration related as it removes
those files and starts again with the defaults. Even though
you have two drives set up identically, that doesn't preclude
one messing up somehow.  However, I can't fathom what issue
would cause the menu issue on several different programs.
Perhaps there are others that can be of more help.  Good luck.
