problem sendingout mail through Evolution

Hello there,

I am having a problem where when I go to send mail through my smtp server
it gives me the following error:
error error while performing operation host lookup smtp.northlc.com name
or host not found.

I checked my settings in Evolution and they are fine and I also checked my
"/etc/hosts" file just to make sure there was nothing funny in it.  Any
help would be appreciated.
