Hi

Sorry about the delay in replying.

Tried that and it still doesn't work.

Still didn't work.

WICD wouldn't run.

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/wicd/wicd-daemon.py", line 55, in ?
    import wicd.wpath as wpath
ImportError: No module named wicd.wpath

Ndiswrapper wouldn't compile.

In file included from /usr/src/ndiswrapper-1.53/driver/crt.c:16:
/usr/src/ndiswrapper-1.53/driver/ntoskernel.h:649: error: field 'lock'
has incomplete type

(I think the kernel in 6.06 is too old for the newest ndiswrapper)

Didn't recognise the hardware.
8.10 recognised the hardware but still couldn't connect via WPA.

I got the product number wrong by a digit. It's supposed to be:
F5D7051uk, Version 1000uk. NOT F5D7050uk as a stated previously, Sorry.

Anyone got any suggestions?

At the risk of taking a defeatist attitude, are there any Wireless G
(or better) network adapters (preferably USB) that are known to work
with WPA out of the box on 6.06LTS? Preferably with entirely Free
drivers (May as well do it right this time around ;))

I would rather get my current card working but if this looks like it
won't be possible it may be time to consider buying a new WiFi
adapter.

Thanks

Andy
