Install ubuntu next to Windows?

Of course you can install ubuntu on a separate partition with windows.
I expect most installs are that way. You can also install ubuntu within
windows, as an application, using wubi. I've never done it that way and wouldn't
care to but there are many posts on the list describing it. It may be some opinion
that a separate hard drive is preferable but that's strictly and opinion. Can be
done any way mentioned above as you chose. HTH,
