Just to clarify - there is nothing wrong with your wireless or wired 
machines having the same gateway.

The issue I was highlighting is the configuration where you have a route 
entry for *both* eth0 and wlan0 - I think this is a possible source of 
trouble, your machine should have only one I suspect.
