Broken executable?

I just scanned my Windows volume from within Ubuntu with clamav, and it
identified several files as being broken executables. What the hell is a
broken executable? I've googled it to death and have found no definition
of the term, just references to the term in many threads here and there.

So what exactly does broken executable mean?

My Windows installation runs fine by the way, so I'm not too sure these
messages mean anything, as nothing seems broken on the Windows side of
this box.
