You can use MS Compatible software (at least some) with WINE. However,
there are many open source applications that will do what common Windows
apps can do. OpenOffice will open and save in MS Office format for
example. I suggest you try those first before running to the Windows
versions.
I believe dreamweaver still works in WINE, but there are other IDEs like
DW in linux that I think work better. NVU being the one I prefer if I
need a GUI to work in.
I'm going to assume 'PSP' stand for Paint Shop Pro? Again, I think it
will work under WINE, but don't quote me. Someone posted the winehq
AppDB link. However, with you being a n00b to linux, it might be rather
intimidating to read how to get things running under WINE. Never fear,
that's what we're here for. To help.
I build web pages all the time in Linux. I think you will find that
GIMP is a much better replacement for PSP, and it's a native linux app,
so I would look into it first.
Welcome to the world of Linux. There are a million ways to skin the
cats you want, so don't be afraid to try new ones out, you might find
they are better than the Windows versions. Also, feel free to post
questions on this list, we'll be glad to help you out.
