I've seen problems like this before while reading the groups, and one
way you can do it on the 8.04 machine is to put your command 'hidd
--search' in the boot up scripts. I'm pretty new to Linux so I'm not
sure exactly how to do that, but I'm sure the answer can be found easily
in the group archives. Just search for messages on "init.d" I think the
folder name is, and that should yield some relevant results.
