Like Nik said, the bookmarks and history (and maybe the passwords, I
don't know) are now in an sqlite database. The XUL extension mechanism
has had major changes, especially in the way it interfaces with the
UI.

Firefox 3 can import the Firefox 2 settings. Firefox 2 cannot import
the Firefox 3 settings.
