Thanks for the warning. Actually, having some second thoughts about using
FF at all, I started the process the other way round, by first
removing 3.0, only
to find out that aptitude by itself re-installed FF2; weired, but FF2
appears to
be working.
The reason to reconsider FF after using it since it's earliest times is that
with the introduction sqlite as the storage mechanism it has become impossible
to properly clean up private data at the end of the session. In
addition, the fact
that Windows version is now driven by IE "security" settings tells me
that there
must have been some significant change in the overall design philosophy of
the Mozilla project.
