Strange Highlighted Folder Movement

Hello:

I was wondering if this a normal occurrence or maybe something to do with my
configuration?

- Highlight a folder.

- Then open folder, look at contents and close folder.  Do not move window
or anything else, Just look and close.

- The original highlighted folder is still highlighted but it not within the
frame of the window.

It is always a row down which makes me go look for it.  It can be in the
center on the first highlighting but it never in the same position upon
return.

is this normal?
