I just can't believe that part. My network has hidden SSID and WPA2. There 
is no other network but I can connect to it without a problem. Maybe it 
depends on the driver for some particular hardware or the info is 
outdated? And while I usually use Kubuntu, I also tried it with the 
Xubuntu Live CD - no problem to connect to the network.
