Can't pin down DVD no mount problem

    I've tried it with VLC also (it's a great piece of software), but 
all I got was noises from the drive as it tried to load. I've got the 
codecs loaded with the libdvdcss2 package, but it's not recognising that 
there's a DVD present. It's got to do that before the codecs can be used 
to decode what's on there.

    True. From what I understand, the DVD does get loaded but it's done 
automagically by the system, not by me. I just tried doing so manually 
to see if it would work and if not then what error messages I would get.

    It still didn't help me much though.
