No subject

Using Ubuntu Desktop 8.04 alternet and Ubuntu 7.04 Desktop.

Using a proxy, and can browse the internet.

When I try to use any update manager, I receive multiple:
Failed to fetch http://us.ubuntu.archive.com/ubuntu/pool......
  Could not connect to us.archive.ubuntu.com:80  (IP:  91.189.88.46 80)
Connection refused (111 Connection refused) [IP: 91.189.88.46 80]

All of the IP Addresses attempted to contact are alive (tested by Foxfire browser on the same machine.)

After a search of the archives, I can not locate an answer. Can anyone point me to a possible fix?
