Hello list members,

A line of my IBM T42 laptop Ubuntu 8.04.1 dmesg.log20080807 line reads:
"[14.434952] ata1.00: ATA-8: WDC WD2500BEVE-00WZT0, 01.01A01, max
UDMA/100."
What does dmesg designate "ata1.00" in contrast to "ata2.00"?
lspci only reports one IDE interface: "Intel 82801DBM IDE Controller",
not two.

Kind regards,
Detlef Lechner
