Sometimes ISOs can get corrupted using the download manager which has IE or
Firefox.

This is the place I usually get it so try to download it from here:
http://ftp.wayne.edu/linux_distributions/ubuntu/8.04.1/ using a download
manager, and check the md5sum which is:
7232c6004ba438890cd09aded162dc8e *ubuntu-8.04.1-server-i386.iso

Cheers,
