Folks,
I installed audacity (1.3.4-beta) from the multiverse on my Ubuntu 8.04
system, however, the help files that are indicated in the start up
windows appear to be missing.
Attempts to download them as shown in the instructions result in the
following --
From the Welcome to Audacity screen:
... For more detailed reading, please read our full Help by clicking the
'Help' menu, then 'Index', or _download_ our Manual in PDF format.
From the main display window clicking on Help then index:
You don't appear to have Audacity help files on your machine. You can
_download _the help files and then access them from Audacity as you have
just attempted, or you can click _here_ to read the help online.
It appears that the underlined words (download & here) are supposed to
point to some internet location but when I click on them NOTHING happens.
Looking at the man page yields a reference to
http://www.audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Known_Issues
on that page it indicates that the current version is 1.3.5 released 08
May 2008.
Did I miss something? Is there a later version available to us? Do I
need to bite the bullet and download the source and build it?
