e2fsck causing apt-get warnings

First of all, thanks for your suggestions.

Yeah. I guess I might have to get a new HDD sooner than I thought :-(
Just finished backing up important files.

Tried that. Some of the more recent .deb files were installed. Others were
not there (probably because of a recent apt-get clean).

At the moment, it seems that I have only two options:
1. Reinstall the packages giving warnings, OR
2. Suffer the warning messages, until some error comes up... and
     keep backing up important stuff at regular intervals till the drive
     fails completely...

At the moment <2> seems like a good option to me :-)
