eth card problem after suspend/hibernation, Ubuntu 8.04, laptop dell 1710

are you sure that the card stops working or, do you just need to do a sudo
ifconfig eth0 (or whatever your nic is called) up?  That happens with my
x61.  I just need to run sudo ifconfig eth0 up.
