Printing problem

I have printing through an SMB share working on my Hardy laptop, at least 
the print test works, but I can't print from any application.  Both 
evince and swiftweasel lock up when I try to print.  I thought that the 
problem with swiftweasel was that it was a 32 bit binary, but then I 
realized that printing doesn't work under evince either and this should 
be a 64 bit app.
