Help with dual booting

I don't think that would be useful because then the user could write to 
the device instead of using the file system. It might be useful for a CD 
writer, but IMHO the CD writing program should be better running suid 
disk.

BTW: I'm initial user and I'm not member of group disk. This is a system 
which was initially installed with Dapper and later upgraded to Hardy.
