For some people it is the fastest way to get things running again. Some
people will spend hours and hours trying to fix the mess they made because
they didn't know what they were doing. And even if they basically fix
it...it still isn't quite right and they end up with a crippled system and
try to limp along complaining about it.
So, the simple answer is *start over*.
