msttcorefonts: Throws a number of 'uninitialized variable' errors during installation

Package: msttcorefonts
Version: 1.2ubuntu3
Severity: normal

During the initial installation, 'msttcorefonts' repeatedly reported the
following error:

Use of uninitialized value in print at /var/lib/defoma/scripts/gs.defoma line 108.

It also had the following errors:

opendir: No such file or directory
warning: /usr/share/fonts/X11/truetype does not exist or is not a directory
warning: /usr/lib/X11/fonts/truetype does not exist or is not a directory

The original error had scrolled off the screen and out of the screen
buffer by the time the installation was over; I tried replicating it by
doing a 'dpkg --purge msttcorefonts' and reinstalling, but only the
second set of errors came up the second time. I even tried adding an
error reporting procedure to "gs.defoma" (had it create a file in /tmp
and write all the variables used on line 108, along with labels for
them, into that file) - but it didn't do that on the second run.

Please let me know if there's some way I can help you troubleshoot
further.

Best regards,
Ben Okopnik
