MailScanner problem - (nightmare) PLEASE HELP

OK, I tried that, I added the "exit 0" to line 124 of the init script
for mailscanner, and that seemed to go ok, until it crashed again. Now
it seems that anything I do is messed up.

I don't know where I am, but here are everything that I tried:

$ sudo apt-get purge mailscanner 
Reading package lists... Done

$ sudo apt-get install mailscanner

Please Help.  How can I simply get rid of mailscanner and start over?
