Digest irregularities between Vol 44, Issue 235 - 237?

Hello list!

I have been without emailed digests for several days, and had intended 
to ask for trouble-shooting help before now. This morning I returned, 
after a short break, and discovered that the digests had resumed 
delivery; the inbox showed three digests of issues 235, 236, & 237. 
Woot! The More-Like-It Dept. was on the phone...

FYI, though, Issue 235 listed 1129 items! (It ended with the subject: 
Animation effects.) Both 236 & 237 issues listed ten items, their more 
usual number.

I'm using Thunderbird on Gutsy, fwiw, and had experimented briefly with 
Evolution, about a week back, when I didn't realize for a couple of days 
that I'd accidentally hit the 'button' to hide the message pane in TB 
and thought the program was toast. <egg on face>

If the mailing list software is really able to self-correct for users' 
errors, that's impressive! Was the server down?
