I believe they were all moved to 'openprinting.org-ppds' - which could
potentially have caused the issues you're experiencing.
OpenPrinting.org is part of the Linux foundation, and they're trying to
make the situation much better, so I'd recommend filing bugs, and seeing
if it is an issue that Ubuntu has introduced by merging them...
