Following these instructions:

They were written for gutsy but it says it should work for hardy, too.

I'm stuck libxcomp3 and libxcomp2 conflict

nxproxy depends on libxcomp3

drew at drew5:~$ sudo apt-get install expect openssh-server tcl8.4 libxcomp2
libxcompext2 libxcompshad nxlibs nxagent nxproxy nxclient freenx-server

expect is already the newest version.
openssh-server is already the newest version.
tcl8.4 is already the newest version.
libxcomp2 is already the newest version.
libxcompext2 is already the newest version.
libxcompshad is already the newest version.
nxlibs is already the newest version.
nxagent is already the newest version.
nxproxy is already the newest version.
nxclient is already the newest version.
freenx-server is already the newest version.
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
nxproxy: Depends: libxcomp3 but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify
a solution).

Okay, we will try that, again.

The following extra packages will be installed:
  libxcomp3
The following NEW packages will be installed:

Okay, let's try removing libxcomp2

drew at drew5:~$ sudo apt-get remove libxcomp2

Reading state information... Done
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libxcompext2: Depends: libxcomp2 but it is not going to be installed
nxagent: Depends: libxcomp2 but it is not going to be installed

nxproxy: Depends: libxcomp3 but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify
a solution).

That tries to remove more stuff.

Hmm. Installed nxclient 3.2.0-9 just to see if anything came out in the
wash: nope.

D'oh! Let's just:

   Sudo apt-get remove nxproxy

That probably officially broke something. That's ok it was broken
anyway.

What is broken from the nx client's perspective?

    remote smb shares?
    remote printers?
         Any printer?
         Or just smb printers
    anything else?
