The links to the MD5SUM (and MD5SUM.gpg) file for each release is on the
same web page as the download page on a mirror
(http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-releases/hardy/ etc).

So it *should* be possible to include that info on the page
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu or
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

Maybe a bug against the web page?
