I use a dell inspiron 9400 and i connected a disk-go edge HD-D1-U2
external USB hard drive, in the bios i set that to be my second boot
device (the CDROM being the first), i then removed the main hard drive
(for the sake of making the installation easier, then booted from and
installed from the ubuntu disk using all defaults. I then put the hard
drive back in, now whenever i want to boot to Ubuntu I plug in the USB
hard drive and whenever i want to use XP i just disconnect it. It works
like a charm.
