Hi Jeffrey, it will take months but while you do things you will
learn WHY your desire to use Linux is a good one. I learned years ago
that Windows was going toward being only available on a computer you buy
with it on it. But the main thing is Microsoft no longer writes a book
on Windows XP that you want to afford.

The Windows XP book sells for $125.00 and it's good. But it requires
you to read it and get experiance and then, a new version comes out that
is Vista and it is nothing like Xp. New Book. Linux you have a book that
will be good for years. You have a list like this where you can get help.

So enjoy your ride and it will get better and better as the updates
arrive. And you will want to d/l using apt-get install so special stuff.
I wanted to work on some Fortran programs I wrote years ago. But no
Fortran on my computer. I asked here and a guy told me what to install
and now I have it and it works great!
