Cannot Use XORG - Keyboard does not respond

Hi there guys.

I'm facing a problem with ubuntu 7.10, everithing went fine until I do no
know hwat happened, maybe an update, I cannot log in to the X session.
I installed the software, added some stuff, restarted a couple of time, no
problem, a copules of day, I made some extra software installation, tur of
the machine,
went home, next day caould not login to the X session, the keyboards does
not repond, and this happened no only to my worstation , but to my laptop as
well.

To solve that I need to reboot in single user mode, the error I get in the
Xorg.log is xf86Close/OpenConsole  KDSETMODE failed VT_GETMODE faile
VT_WAITACTIVE failed.

Any idea?
