Thanks David.  I would suspect that if one is using any Windows machines that may at some time be 
networked with the Linux System, then Fat32 would indeed be better.

While messing with the drive and memory last evening, I figured I'd start out with a fresh drive and 
removed all partitions and formated to Ext3....   I do want to tie my XP machine to the Linux one.
