While I tend to prefer bottom posting, it is only useful when there is very
little text quoted.

If I can't see any unquoted lines right away, I delete it - mostly either
someone accidentally sent it out without a reply, or they were not being
polite enough to make their message readable.

Ideally, with proper threading, you would not need to quote the previous
message at all, making this a moot point.

And there are many threads where I could follow the whole thing without even
opening the messages if no one quoted (or everyone top-posted).  My email
client lets me see the first couple of lines without even opening the
message.

Finally, if there is interesting and complicated information, it should be
inline, not top or bottom, in a way that lets you see which parts the
responses belong to.
