7.10/64bit and 8.04/32bit

Hi all,
after 8.04/32bit stable release I plan to install it parallel to my 
existing 7.10/64bit.
I want to do this in the hope to get some kind of migration away from 
64bit, until the various application issues are solved.
By chance I received today my old 320 HD back from repair. So diskspace 
is no big deal.
Q: are there any special considerations or known issues ?
