Ejecting CD/DVDs

OS: Ubuntu 7.10 x86.


Sometimes when I eject a CD/DVD by pressing the DVD-recorder's button (I
use the CD/DVD recorder as a CD/DVD player too), a message on the bottom
right appears that says I must use the eject option because data may be
lost. I think this only occurs when vmware is in use, but I am not sure
about this.

Has anyone come across this message? Shouldn't we eject a CD/DVD by
pressing the eject button directly?
