if you install ssh server program,you can use commands to start or stop ssh service.
kongove at ubuntu:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/ssh start
 * Starting OpenBSD Secure Shell server sshd			[ OK ] 
kongove at ubuntu:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/ssh stop
 * Stopping OpenBSD Secure Shell server sshd			[ OK ]
