Hi All, This is my first serious attempt to get involved in Linux systems. Got too much time to select the right distribution, finally I chosed Ubuntu.
It was very easy to install. I got 2 partitions on my harddisk. Old C and Old D driver. My own files was on D driver. I just erase C and split it into 2 pcs like ROOT and SWAP. It installed quickly & automatically add(actually mount I guess) my D driver as new HOME folder. It even recognized my USB wireless stick, Splendid!
Anyhow, my problem is I can not connect internet. It recognize my ethernet connection to internet. I have IP 192.168.1.2 and gateaway 192.168.1.1 as it used to be. Feels like I connected. But it is not. I don't know what is wrong and would be appreciated if you may welcome me by giving me a hand to make me enable sending my next email from my new ubuntu system.
Thanks
Yahya
