Well. lmsensors does not always tell the truth :)
For example, on my old celeron 2GHz box, lmsensors reported a constant CPU
temperature of 127 degrees C. This was obviously wrong, as a simple check
in the BIOS confirmed :) In addition, I saw no blue smoke emanating from
the case *smile* .
The calibration of lmsensors is not straightforward sometimes... In my
case, I just shrugged my shoulders and turned off the CPU temperature
reports in gkrellm, since they were clearly useless unless I took the time
to research how to calibrate them.
