I've only used a good optical lens cleaner for it.  I've been doing that a lot and no problems over 
the years on the other machine with the XP....   just a problem on Ubuntu.  However, I will get a 
mat for it (get shed of the shirt), and hope it stays as good as it is now....   just an occasional 
jiggle.
