Wade, given that no one else on the list has stepped in to offer
suggestions... I'll keep trying.

I wonder if it is the USB automount issue that we figured out in one of
the earlier threads. Have a look at:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.22/+bug/88746

It's a long read, but it could very well be that this is what is causing
the drive not to be reckognized. Sorry - don't have much else to offer
at this point.
