Ubuntu 7.04 Install and Remove Applications

Dear users,

 

I am using the Moka5 (moka5.com) livepc virtualization engine Ubuntu
7.04 LivePC on top of XP.  When I install new programs, they are good
for the current day only.  Then I close out of the livepc, shut down my
XP desktop and go home for the day.  When I boot up again the next day,
all the applications I added the previous day are no longer installed.
I can use add/remove to install them again, but I would like to
permanently save my config instead of installing all my apps over again
each day.  How do I do that?  What am I doing wrong?
