usb KVM switch keeps generating errors

I have a new HP Proliant server that i have installed ubuntu 7.04 server on.
The server has a single dual-core AMD cpu.

Everything seems to be working fine except it is not working well with
a usb kvm switch that i have been using for a while.

the kvm switch has worked well with other linux boxes in the past, including
an intel quad-core xeon cpu based server that i have recently setup.

but on the current system i keep getting the folling error repeatedly
on the console.
<snip>
usb 2-1.1: failed to restore interface 0 altsetting 0 (error=-62)
<snip>
which gets annoying really quickly. I have unplugged the kvm, and
plugged the keyboard
directly to the machine and i stop receiving the error messages.

checking dmesg i see that the following sets of lines keeps repeating
itself with increasing address number.
<snip>
[35618.861030] usb 2-1.1: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 23
[35619.009085] usb 2-1.1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[35619.031134] input: SCISSORS Keyboard as /class/input/input26
[35619.031159] input: USB HID v1.00 Keyboard [ SCISSORS Keyboard] on
usb-0000:00:02.0-1.1
[35620.561031] usb 2-1.1: reset low speed USB device using ohci_hcd
and address 23
[35620.895030] usb 2-1.1: failed to restore interface 0 altsetting 0 (error=-62)
[35620.899030] usb 2-1.1: USB disconnect, address 23
<snip>

any idea what could be the cause of this?

TIA,
Tomoki
