I lost my trash icon.

If you meant you wanted a trash icon on your Desktop background then
do the following:

Open gconf-editor (either type gconf-editor at the terminal, or push
Alt-F2 to get a run dialog and type it in there (or it may be in your
system menu).

Only the left hand side in the tree structure navigate to apps ->
nautilus -> desktop and in the right hand pane check the box labelled
"trash_icon_visible"

Again I only tested this on Ubuntu 6.06, but it probably will work in
other versions

I was going to send this with the other email but I hit send instead
of save, silly me.
