The point of my message is that EVERYBODY needs full ownership of his
or her data (from actual documents to email conversations, bookmarks
etc). And that really every computer user _has_ personal data to
preserve. Unless you use a computer only for games, watching broadcast
TV, reading news online or chatting to kill time, of course.
If (I repeat if, just as a general theoretical example), using Apple
OS makes you produce very, very easily wonderful home movies... that
can be seen or edited only with Mac software... then you want to stay
away from Apple OS and create and preserve those movies in some other
way. Your home movies (=your memories, your life) are yours, not
Apple's.
